Egg fruit (pouteria campechiana)
Egg fruit, is a tropical evergreen tree commonly found in Southern Mexico, Central America, and parts of Southeast Asia. Other names Yellow Sapote, Tiesa, Chesa and Canistel.
The Egg Fruit tree is approximately 3 - 7 meters tall and bears oblong fruits that range from 7-12 centimeters in length. The fruits can vary in shape, some with a straight pointed end others curved at the tip. When ripe, the Egg Fruit turns a golden-orange color and occasionally exhibits rusty brown blotches, which is no indication of the inner flesh’s quality. The interior is both the color and texture of a hard-boiled egg yolk, and contains 1 to 4 hard black seeds. Some people find the strong musky aroma of ripe Egg Fruit to be offensive. Its flavor is rich with a mellow sweetness.

2 Elephant Apple Fruit
Elephant Apple Fruit (dillenia indica)
The knobby grapefruit-sized fruits are yellow-green, and ripen with a leathery brown covering and many interior brown-black seeds. The fruits are edible. They are crisp and aromatic (almost onion-like) with an acid flesh. Unripe fruits are often pickled or used as chutney.
This large, evergreen tropical tree is native to forest river banks across tropical Asia and grows up to 15 m tall. Its branches are used to make good firewood. The tree is known as “the Legend of the money tree”. The fruit, leaves and bark are useful for many cures.
Elephant Apple is a main source of food for elephants, monkeys and deer; it is prohibited to collect fruits from the core areas of the forest. Commercial sale of the fruit is also prohibited in order to help the food-chain system of the forest from dismantling totally.

3 Etrog Fruit
Etrog Fruit (citrus
medica)
Etrog Fruit is the large variety of citrus available, one of the oldest, dating back to 8,000 B.C. The citron possibly originated in north-east India and is now cultivated in subtropical and tropical regions. Other name yellow citron.
Small tree or shrub up to 5m tall. Twigs flushed with purple when young. Leaves up to 18cm long. Flower buds tinged purple, flowers with white petals flushed with pink. Fruits vast, ovoid (three-dimensionally egg-shaped) or oblong, weighing up to 2.5kg, skin yellow and rough when ripe. Pollinated by honeybees, bumblebees, thrips and mites. Jewish mythology identified the citron or ‘etrog’ with the forbidden fruit of Eden and it was believed that eating it when pregnant produced a male child.
Etrogs primarily are grown for Jewish ritual use in the Sukkot harvest festival, held in September or October. Jews believe that this is “the fruit of a goodly tree” mentioned in Leviticus 23:40: “And you shall take of yourselves on the first day the fruit of a goodly tree, a palm branch, the myrtle branch, and the willow of the brook; and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God seven days.” Trees for this purpose must not be grafted on rootstock like most other citrus; instead, they must be grown on their own roots, from seeds or cuttings; these must be from trees descended from stock known or believed to have never been grafted. This fruit is highly prized by observant Jews, specifically fruit that are unblemished, which may sell for $100 or more.
